The museum takes its name from the art collector, anthroposophist and agricultural pioneer Marie Tak van Poortvliet (1871-1936), who in the early twentieth century had a villa built in Domburg and spent many summers there in the company of the painter Jacoba van Heemskerck (1876-1923). Zeeland seemed to naturally to attract artists, this attraction was enhanced by the unsophisticated beauty of the surroundings, the special light along the coast and its reflection over the land have inspired many poets, composers and writers, but also – and above all – painters.

Neeltje Jans is a flat, chop, small and medium waves spot. It is a kitesurfing spot for riders of any level. The water theme park here is a well-known visitor attraction, but only a few know that there is also a fantastic surf spot on the island north of the barrier. At high tide, you can rip the wide surf belt against a lonely dune backdrop, but don't go too far out because of the current! At low tide a big shallow area forms, ideal for kiting – although the approach of over 500m will probably ensure that purists remain among themselves here in the future.

The Jewish Historical Museum is a beautiful, high-profile museum that occupies four monumental synagogue buildings in the middle of the Jewish Cultural Quarter. The museum has an extensive collection of items ranging from paintings to films, and from utensils to 3D presentations. At any time there are also two temporary exhibitions on display. The Municipal Koenraad Bosman Museum (Museum of Art and Urban History) is named after the Dutch museum patron, the engineer and entrepreneur Koenraad Bosman (b. 1918/d. 2000). The two-story, five-axis building from around 1850 with the new extension includes 418 square meters of exhibition space. The house has two main focuses: art and the city's history. Under the museum building there is an accessible casemate for lighter guns, built around 1500.

It is a stone flour mill of the tower mill type. On the ground floor there is an entrance for carts with grain. The hood can turn itself in the right direction by means of a self-tilting mechanism. The height from the mill to the top of the roof is seventeen meters. The blade cross has a diameter of approximately 22 meters. The diameter of the hull on the ground floor is six meters. The blades are propeller blades designed by Kurt Bilau. The mill has been owned by the same family since about 1870, but has changed names a few times. From Hermanns-Mühle to Rosenbaum-Mühle and finally Scholten-Mühle. This was because a few times there was only a daughter who could take over the mill and she then took her husband's name. From 1885 to 1914, the mill was assisted by a steam generator on windless days. Between 1914 and 1950 a gas turbine was used for this. The last full-time miller was Johannes Scholten. He died in 1963, after which the mill was decommissioned. The Scholten mill is privately owned and is used as a flour mill and bakery. The mill takes part in the annual open mill days on Pentecost Monday. Grain is occasionally ground and the flour is baked into bread in the baking house's ovens. The mill is open on Saturdays during the summer months and can also be visited by appointment.
